Family Day Plans

I have the day off today which means that I’m getting an early start to my long weekend! I’m currently sitting in the passport office waiting for my number to be called so don’t get too excited 🙂

We are staying in town this Family Day long weekend but have a ton of plans…

Playdates, visits with both sets of parents, swimming (x 2), skating and a special V-tines dinner with M.

Once I’m done with the passports, I’m planning to do some shopping for new winter boots and mitts (in preparations for my new commute with my new job which starts on Thursday), do a full grocery shop (which unfortunately hasn’t happened in a while) and maybe even squeeze in a nap.

Do you have plans for Family Day?

Entering the Blogosphere

Welcome to The ELM Life!

The start of the New Year is often coupled with the commitment to achieve some form of personal goal.  My resolution for 2013 is to start a blog.  I’ve been thinking about it for some time and after some encouragement from a friend and fellow blogger, I decided to take the plunge!

There are a few different personal benefits of blogging that I want to take advantage of:

  1. Foster my creativity
  2. Expand my social network to include other like-minded individuals
  3. Document my life as it speeds past me way quicker than it should

So, what is my blog going to be about?  Short answer – my life as a mom.  Honest answer – I haven’t entirely nailed it down yet 🙂

I envision a project-based lifestyle blog which covers off all the facets of my life and making it work on a day-to-day basis.  I love planning and organizing and using those skills to try and create a more efficient house and home life.

The name of my blog – The ELM Life – is a descriptor of my life in the simplest sense.  E, L, and M are the initials of the most important people in my life; my husband and our two beautiful daughters.  My life is all about them and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Enjoy your visit and I hope to see you again soon!
