Happy Saturday! For anyone who has checked out the blog the past couple weeks or who follows me on Instagram, you’ve probably read that I started a new job this past week. Just wanted to let you all know that my first couple days were super-duper. I’m loving the new workplace and all the people there. I’m pumped to go back next week and get started on my projects!
Remember that gallery wall that I keep talking about but have yet to show it in its entirety? Well, here’s another project that I made for it. Once I’ve shared all of the individual pieces, I will do a big reveal 🙂
This one is a DIY geometric heart made with scrapbook paper and canvas.
Here’s how I made it.
Step 1: Gather your supplies
In addition to my scrapbook paper and canvas, I used glue, scissors, a pencil (not shown) and a ruler (not shown).
Step 2: Cut your scrapbook paper
You will need 10 squares for this project which will then be cut into 20 triangles. You can use just a few different pieces of paper or a lot. I used 10.
Step 3: Arrange your triangles
While I was pretty random with paper placement, I did this step to ensure everything fit. I’m glad I did because turns out there wasn’t enough space so I had to cut off the heart at the top and the bottom.
Step 4: Measure out the centre
This step helps keep everything straight because you can start in the middle and work outwards.
Step 5: Glue down your triangles
I forgot to take a pic of this step but hopefully you get the idea 🙂
I love how this turned out because with all the different pieces of paper, it is quite interesting to look at (not to mention super unique!)
What do you think?
Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!
