2015 Closet Purge and Organization

Like a lot of people, I like to start off the new year by cleaning out my closet.  It helps me start the year off fresh and who doesn’t love an organizing project?

Even more of an incentive were the new velvet hangers I got for Christmas.  I’ve been considering these for a while but have been too cheap, ahem, frugal, to make the splurge.  Thankfully, Santa didn’t mind 🙂

The box came with 50 hangers and my goal was to trip my wardrobe down to 50 individual pieces.  While I wasn’t successful on that front (how do I still have so much stuff?!?), I was successful at unloading a bunch of stuff.

I have packed up the following items for donation:

  • 4 dresses
  • 5 skirts
  • 4 pairs of pants/shorts
  • 19 shirts

While the numbers aren’t as high as my closet purge around this time last year, I’m still feeling good about it!  Now I just need to find somewhere for all the old hangers!

My next step for the new year is to plan out some goals for the next 12 months: personal, professional and family-related.

Stay tuned for that in the next few day!

      • It was very hard to get rid of some of my 5 children’s old projects. However, by the time my oldest was 30 and I had to move to a very small home, I knew it was time to trim down my collection! I managed to save the most special pieces and discarded the rest. I went from 5 tupperware type storage boxes down to 1!

      • Good for you! Sometimes you need to be ruthless. We are in a small house and I am slowly learning this 🙂
