DIY Sharpie Mugs

I’ve been seeing Sharpie mugs all over Pinterest lately and I thought they would make perfect Christmas gifts.  After looking into this a bit further, I realized it wasn’t as simple as drawing on a mug and it being functional.  Turns out you need a special marker (oil-based) and the mug needs to bake.

I came across this graphic from Creature Comforts which breaks it down into simple instructions:

I bought an oil-based Sharpie from Michael’s for $6.99 but I found them online at Staples for even cheaper (of course, lol).  Also, the mugs were from the dollar store so this was an inexpensive gift!

Drawing on the mug was simple enough but you need a steady hand.

I added some festive adornment and a coffee gift card and I had the perfect gift for a colleague!

I’m planning on making a few more of these for budget Christmas gifts!
