A few times a year I try to head north of the city to visit my favourite kids consignment shop and stock up for the season. My visit last week was well worth it because in addition to having a 20% off coupon, there was also a sale so I got a bunch of clearance items for $1 each.
After an hour and a half, I left the store with:
- 2 pairs of boots
- 1 pair of dress shoes
- 12 pairs of pants
- 7 dresses
- 11 skirts
- 6 long-sleeved shirts
- 8 tshirts
- 2 pairs of shorts
- 1 dance leotard
While that may seem a little excessive, there are a couple of things to keep in mind:
- I bought stuff for both E and L
- I bought larger sizes as well so the girls will be wearing the items for years to come
- I was able to find 11 uniform items which L can wear to school when she starts in September
While I spent about $120, my receipt made me very happy. I received $105 in discounts between my coupon and the clearance items. With 50 items, I ended up spending $2.40/item. Totally worth it!
